(Defenselink -- July 15, 2002) United Defense LP, Armament Systems Division, Minneapolis is being awarded a $7,297,604 cost-plus-award-fee modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-98-C-5371) for the procurement of 127 (ea) MK 13 MOD 0 canisters with ancillary hardware and re-configurable coding plug assemblies for Korea (79 percent), Germany (11 percent) and Japan (nine percent), under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. This effort will also include a physical configuration audit, which will be done in association with the first MK 13 delivery. The contract will provide for the fabrication, assembly, test and delivery of MK 13 MOD 0 canisters to fulfill FMS requirements. MK 13 canisters provide safety for missiles during storage, transportation, handling and loading aboard ship. Work will be performed in Aberdeen, S.D., and is to be completed by December 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
