(Defenselink -- November 6, 2002) Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $5,026,814 firm-fixed-price contract and Raytheon Systems Co., El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $5,024,500 firm-fixed- price contract to provide First Article Test equipment software, training package development, and data, in support of the Defense Advanced Global Positioning System Receivers (DAGR). DAGR will provide authorized DoD Federal Civilian, and Foreign Military Sales users a Precise Positioning Service hand-held, dual frequency receiver that employs next-generation tamper resistant security module technology. Rockwell Collins will perform its effort in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Raytheon effort will be performed by Raytheon, El Segundo CA (28 percent), and Teledyne Industries, Inc., Lewisburg, Tenn., (72 percent). Total funds have been obligated. This work will be completed by May 2003. Solicitation began in April 2002 and negotiations were completed in September 2002. The Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-02-C- 0011, F04701-02-C-0012).
