(Defenselink -- December 19, 2002) McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $28,687,219 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-01-C-0040) for the procurement of 25 tactical Harpoon missiles and associated hardware and services for the governments of Korea (18), United Arab Emirates (2) and Taiwan (5) and 10 containers for the government of Japan. Work will be performed in St. Charles, Mo. (36%); Dallas, Texas (21.69%); the United Kingdom (10.21%); Toledo, Ohio (8.59%); Clearwater, Fla. (3.81%); Huntsville, Ala. (3.77%); Kirkwood, Mo. (1.75%); Galena, Kan. (1.69%); Elkton, Md. (1.69%); Middletown, Conn. (1.54%); Minneapolis, Minn. (1.51%); Lititz, Pa. (.99%); Anniston, Ala. (.70%); Estill Springs, Tenn. (.65%); Joplin, Mo. (.64%); Valencia, Calif. (.43%); Fairfield, Calif. (.40%); McAlester, Okla. (.35%); Lynnwood, Wash. (.34%); Chula Vista, Calif. (.33%); Broomfield, Colo. (.30%); Sharon, Mass. (.24%); Phoenix, Ariz. (.21%); and various other U.S. locations (2.17%) and is expected to be completed in March 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the governments of Korea ($19,627,511; 68.4%), Taiwan ($6,281,745; 21.9%), United Arab Emirates ($2,634,256; 9.2%) and Japan ($143,707; .5%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
