(Defenselink -- July 1, 2003) Alliant Defense Electronics Systems Inc., Clearwater, Fla., is being awarded a $15,385,830 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-priced contract (N00019-98-C-0006) to exercise an option for AAR-47(V)2 sensor upgrade hardware weapons replacement assemblies, consisting of 1,244 optical sensor converters with laser warning capabilities for the Navy (624), Air Force (564), Army (48) and the United Kingdom (8); 223 computer processors for the Navy (97), Air Force (125) and Army (1); 290 control indicators for the Navy (166), Air Force (122) and United Kingdom (2); and 156 computer processor kits for the Navy (143), Army (11) and United Kingdom (2). Work will be performed in Clearwater, Fla., and is expected to be completed in March 2006. Contract funds in the amount of $56,705 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The procurement combines the purchases of the U.S. Navy ($8,591,783; 56%), the U.S. Air Force ($6,265,091; 41%), the U.S. Army ($443,915; 2.5%) and the government of the United Kingdom ($85,041; .5%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
