(Defenselink -- September 11, 2003) Litton Systems, Inc., Navigation Systems Division, Woodland Hills, Calif., is being awarded a $13,993,339 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of 10 AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator sets; 143 control indicators; 7 retrofit kits, and associated technical data for the U.S. Navy (6 AN/UPX-24 interrogator sets, 94 control indicators and 7 retrofit kits) and for the governments of Korea (3 AN/UPX-24 interrogator sets and 36 control indicators) and Japan (1 AN/UPX-24 interrogator set and 13 control indicators). The AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator set is one of two major subsystems that comprises the Interrogator System AN/UPX-29 and provides a centralized identification system for Fleet tactical surface ships. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (85%) and Woodland Hills, Calif. (15%), and is expected to be completed in October 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($9,365,802; 67%); and for the governments of Japan ($3,439,884; 25%) and Korea ($1,187,653; 8%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-03-C-0049).
