(Defenselink -- November 21, 2003) TCOM LP, Columbia, Md., is being awarded an $84,830,000 undefinitized firm-fixed-priced letter contract for one low altitude surveillance system, consisting of one 71M aerostat balloon, one mooring system and power tether, one TPS-63 radar system and one AR-900 electronic intelligence system, along with site preparation and associated supplies and services for the government of Kuwait under the Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed in Linthicum, Md. (40 percent); Kuwait (30 percent); Elizabeth City, N.C. (15 percent); and Columbia, Md. (15 percent), and work is expected to be completed by April 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract is a sole-source award directed by international agreement. Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity (M67854-04-C-2002).
