(Defenselink -- January 16, 2004) Northrop Grumman Corp., Air Combat Systems, El Segundo, Calif., is being awarded a $22,635,735 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-02-C-3043) for the procurement of 32 center barrel replacement plus (CBR+) kits and associated center barrel loose parts for the Navy (28) and the Royal Australian Air Force (4) in support of the service life extension program for the F/A-18A/B/C/D. Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif. (80.8%) and Amityville, N.Y. (19.2%), and is expected to be completed in October 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This modification combines purchases for the Navy ($19,956,676; 88.2%) and the Royal Australian Air Force ($2,679,059; 11.8%) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
