U.S. NAVY
(Defenselink -- March 25, 2004) General Electric Co., Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $7,745,166 order against a previously awarded cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00019-03-D-0003) for component improvement program services for T64 engines for the Navy; the Air Force; the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR); and the governments of Israel and Japan. These services include engineering support and testing to resolve readiness problems, maintain performance, redesign low reliability parts, and forecast hardware wear-out rates. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass. (96.6 percent); Evendale, Ohio (1.8 percent); and various locations across the United States (1.6 percent); and is expected to be completed in December 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($5,806,780; 75.0 percent); U.S Air Force ($721,273; 9.3 percent); DSCR ($289,004; 3.7 percent); and the Governments of Israel ($498,527; 6.4 percent); and Japan ($429,582; 5.6 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
U.S. AIR FORCE
(Defenselink -- March 25, 2004) The Boeing Co., St Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $24,470,905 cost-plus fixed-fee contract. This is a development effort for test and delivery of a dual set joint helmet mounted cueing systems and components including software, hardware, test and checkout. This effort supports foreign military sales for Royal Australian Air Force. At this time, $20,120,658 of the funds has been obligated. This work will be complete by December 2005. Solicitation began June 2002 and negotiations were completed February 2004. The Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (F33657-01-D-0026).
