(Defenselink -- 2 August 2004) _ ST Production Systems Inc.* (a division of SensyTech Inc.), Smithfield, Pa., is being awarded a $10,309,040 production option modification to previously awarded firm fixed price contract (N00024-98-C-6111) in support of the AN/SLQ-25A Torpedo Countermeasure Systems Program. The modification provides for the production, test and delivery of an additional quantity of 11 AN/SLQ-25A torpedo countermeasure transmitting sets and associated Foreign Military Sales (FMS) spares. The AN/SLQ-25A is a digitally controlled, modular design, electro-acoustic soft kill countermeasure decoy system that defends ships against wake homing torpedoes, acoustic homing torpedoes, and wire guided torpedoes. Variants of the AN/SLQ-25A have been offered to select foreign nations as authorized by the Technology Transfer Security Assistance Review Board. This mod combines purchases for the U.S. Navy (77 percent) and the governments of Turkey (1 percent) and Taiwan (22 percent) under the FMS Program. Work will be performed in Smithfield, Pa., and is expected to be completed July 2008. Contracts funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
