(Defenselink -- 25 August 2004) Communications & Power Industries Inc., Palo Alto, Calif., is being awarded a $22,259,300 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract for production of AN/SPY-1D (V) Radar System Continuous Wave Illuminators. Work will be performed in Palo Alto, Calif., and is expected to be completed by August 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. This contract combines support of the U.S. Navy (50 percent) with the governments of Japan (25 percent) and Korea (25 percent), under the Foreign Military Sales program. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity (N00164-04-D-8902).
(Defenselink -- 25 August 2004) Litton Systems Inc., Navigation Systems Division, Woodland Hills, Calif., is being awarded a $9,076,645 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-03-C-0049) for the procurement of 5 AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator sets; 58 control indicators; 8 retrofit kits, and associated technical data for the U.S. Navy (4 AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator sets, 43 control indicators and 8 retrofit kits) and for the Government of Japan (1 AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator set and 15 control indicators). The AN/UPX-24(V) Interrogator Set is one of two major subsystems that comprises the Interrogator System AN/UPX-29 and provides a centralized identification system for Fleet tactical surface ships. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (85 percent) and Woodland Hills, Calif. (15 percent), and is expected to be completed in April 2006. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($7,587,892; 84 percent); and for the Government of Japan ($1,488,753; 16 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
