(Defenselink -- 29 October 2004) OmniPhase Research Laboratories, Inc., Newport Beach, Calif. is being awarded a ceiling cost $44,378,859 firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for continuous wave illuminator noise test set (CWINTS), first article and a maximum quantity of 284 production units. The CWI NTS is a shipboard system that ensures successful intercept scenarios in conjunction with CWI AM and FM noise performance. The CWI NTS is utilized with the MK99 fire control system aboard AEGIS Class cruisers and destroyers. This contract combines efforts for the U.S. Navy (30 percent) and the governments of Norway (17.5 percent); Spain (17.5 percent); Korea (17.5 percent); Japan (17.5 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Irvine, Calif. (70 percent); Newport Beach, Calif. (20 percent); and National City, Calif. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed by October 2009. Contract funds in the amount of $126,831 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised on the Internet, with two offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, Ind., is the contracting activity (N00164-05-D-8910).
