(Defenselink -- 2 December 2004) The Boeing Co., BCMC3 & Strategic Systems Division, Anaheim, Calif., is being awarded a $10,900,000 cost plus fixed fee contract to provide design agent and technical engineering services in support of the AN/USQ-82 (V) Fiber Optic Data Multiplex Systems (FODMS) for DDG 105-109 and Japanese Navy DDG 2317. The AN/USQ-82 (V) FODMS is a modular, general purpose multiplexing system capable of transferring the majority of internal data signals aboard DDG-51 Class ships. Work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract supports the U.S. Navy (93 percent) and the Government of Japan (7 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales program. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity. (N00024-05-C-4303).
