(Defenselink -- 7 December 2004) Lockheed Martin, Maritime Systems and Sensors, Moorestown, N. J. is being awarded a $10,335,000 cost plus award fee modification under previously awarded contract (N00024-04-C-5144) for Combat System Engineering Services and Computer Program Maintenance in support of Japan Kongo (DDG 173) Class Aegis Ships under the Foreign Military Sales Program. The AEGIS Weapon System computer program Baseline J3 was developed to support the Japanese Kongo Class AEGIS Destroyers (DDG 173 through DDG 176). Throughout the lifecycle of these ships, the Baseline J3 computer program and support programs have been updated to correct Baseline J3 problems/deficiencies, to integrate new functionalities and capabilities for Japan class ships. The latest revision of this computer program is Baseline J3.3.z, which is currently fielded on all Kongo class ships. Work will be performed in Moorestown, N. J. (96 percent) and Japan (4 percent) and is expected to be completed by March 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
