(Defenselink -- 1 September 2005) Litton Systems, Inc., Navigation Systems Div., Woodland Hills, Calif., is being awarded an $11,250,000 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of five AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator sets for the Navy; 70 control indicators for the Navy (64) and the government of Japan (6); 16 retrofit kits for the Navy (12) and the government of Japan (4); and one installation and checkout spare for the government of Japan. The AN/UPX-24(V) interrogator set is one of two major subsystems that provide a centralized identification system for fleet tactical ships. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif. (90 percent) and Woodland Hills, Calif. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed in November 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the Navy ($9,821,385; 87.3 percent); and for the government of Japan ($1,428,615; 12.7 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-05-C-0074).
