(Defenselink -- 2 September 2005) Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS)/Defense Mission Systems Division, Dahlgren, Va., is being awarded an $11,572,640 modification to exercise an option under previously awarded contract (N00178-04-C-2020) for training tool integration, development, maintenance, documentation, and operation for the AEGIS Training and Readiness Center/Center for Surface Combat Systems. Work will be performed in Dahlgren (55 percent) and Norfolk (22 percent) Va., San Diego, Calif. (12 percent), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (8 percent), Mayport, Fla. (2 percent), and Everett, Wash. (1 percent), and is expected to be completed by September 2006.  This modification combines support of the U.S. Navy (90 percent) and the Governments of Japan (3 percent), Norway (3 percent), South Korea (3 percent), and Spain (1 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales program. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Internet, with two proposals received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, Va. is the contracting agency.
