(Defenselink -- 30 September 2005) Data Link Solutions, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $5,495,065 firm-fixed-price delivery order for multifunctional information distribution system-low volume terminals (MIDS-LVTs). The MIDS-LVT provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital data and voice communications capability for Navy, Air Force and Army platforms. This delivery order combines purchases for the U.S. (29 percent) and the government of Australia (71 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J. (50 percent), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (50 percent), and is expected to be completed by May 2007. Contract funds in the amount of $1,180,333 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This delivery order was competitively procured with two proposals solicited and two offers received via the SPAWAR E-commerce web site. The synopsis was released via the Federal Business Opportunities web site. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego is the contracting activity (N00039-00-D-2100).
(Defenselink -- 30 September 2005) ATK Tactical Systems Co. LLC, Rocket Center, W.Va., is being awarded a $14,542,228 firm-fixed price contract modification to provide for the DSU-33C/B proximity sensor nose-mounted radio frequency proximity sensor used on M117 and MK-80 series general-purpose bombs and the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). The sensor is qualified for use on the following aircraft and each variant in their series: Marine AV-8, Navy/Marines F/A-18, and Air Force A-10, F-15, F-16, F-22, B-52, B-1 and B-2 including foreign military sales versions. This action is for procurement of 12,937 additional DSU-33C/B proximity sensors and cables for the Air Force, 500 sensors for foreign military sales and under option 5 of the contract. (Defenselink -- 30 September 2005) Engineered Fabrics, Rockmart, Ga., is being awarded a $11,878,200.53 firm, fixed-price, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract for production of six assorted (national stock numbers) C-130 fuel bladder cells. The best estimated quantity for each year is 288 for Air Force and 48 for foreign military sales for five ordering periods. The best estimated quantity for the contract is 1,680 cells. At this time, $1,383,802 has been obligated. This work will be complete by January 2011. Solicitations began in July 2005 and four proposals were received. Negotiations were complete September 2005.
