(Defenselink -- 16 October 2006) Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $5,731,173 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification under previously awarded contract N00024-06-C-2105, for engineering, technical, trade, and program management support of industrial work performed on behalf of operational, decommissioning, and submarines undergoing availabilities/conversion. This contract combines support of the Navy (99 percent) and the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain (1 percent) under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2007. Contract funds in the amount of $2,521,716 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
