(Defenselink --14 May 2007) Raytheon Missile Systems of Tucson, Arizona, is being awarded a sole source $140,696,593 cost contract for long lead material required for the manufacture and delivery of thirty-six Standard Missile-3 Block IA missiles to meet U.S. and Foreign Military Sales requirements in support of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System. Work will be performed at Tucson, Arizona and is expected to be complete by May 2008.The contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C. is the contracting activity (N00024-07-C-6119). Fiscal Year 2007 research and development and Foreign Military Sales funds will be used. The contract will be incrementally funded, and at award will obligate $20 million FY-07 research and development and $5 million Japan Foreign Military Sales funds.
